This policy explains what BringaList collects when you use bringalist.com, why we collect it, and when we delete it.
The short version
- Anyone with a sheet's link can see the names and notes on that sheet.
- We delete each sheet 60 days after its event.
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't use advertising or analytics cookies today.
What we collect
If you create a sheet
- Your email address, which is required.
- Your first name, if you add it.
- The event name, date, time, guest count and item list.
If you sign up on a sheet
- The name you enter.
- Your note about what you're bringing, if you add one.
When you visit
- Our server briefly uses your IP address to limit spam and abuse. We keep this in memory for up to an hour and don't store it in our logs.
- Our logs record the time, the type of request, the page and the result. Links to individual sheets are hidden in those logs.
- If you create a sheet from a link on another sheet, we note which sheet it came from. This helps us see how people find BringaList.
How we use it
We use this information to run your sheet, send you your private management link, recover that link if you ask, prevent abuse, and keep the site working. We don't send marketing emails.
Who can see it
- Anyone with the sheet's link can see the event details, the host's first name, and each guest's name and note. Links are hard to guess, but anyone can forward them. Only share what you're comfortable having on the sheet, and consider using first names.
- The organizer can see and remove sign-ups.
- Guests can't see the organizer's email address.
- BringaList's administrator can view, change and delete sheets and sign-ups to run the site, answer support requests and remove abuse.
We ask search engines not to list individual sheets.
Companies that help us run the site
We share information only as needed for these services:
- Hostinger hosts our server, database and backups.
- Resend delivers our emails, so it receives your email address and the message.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts on our pages, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when pages load.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people or the site from harm.
Cookies
We set one kind of cookie. When you sign up on a sheet, it remembers your sign-up on that device so you can change it. It stays for up to 180 days. We don't use it to track you across other sites.
Ads and affiliate links may be added to the site later. We'll update this policy before that happens.
When we delete it
- Each sheet, along with its sign-ups and the organizer's email address, is deleted 60 days after the event date.
- Lost-link recovery links stop working after 7 days.
- Deleted information can stay in our backups until those backups expire.
Your choices
- Guests can remove their own sign-up from the device they used, or ask the organizer to remove it.
- Organizers can remove any sign-up from the management page.
- To see, correct or delete your information, email support@bringalist.com. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law, and you can use this address to exercise them.
Children
BringaList is for adults organizing events, and it isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you're a parent and believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encrypted connections, and we store private links only in scrambled form. No website is perfectly secure, so please don't put sensitive information on a sheet, such as health details or home addresses.
Where your information is stored
Our server is in the United States.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above.
