Potluck sign-up sheet

A potluck goes wrong in a predictable way: nine desserts and one salad. This list spreads dishes across the whole meal, sized to your group, so everyone can see what is still needed before they start cooking.

Tips for your potluck

Ask people to name the dish

A slot called "Side dish" still leaves room for three potato salads. Guests can add what they are actually making, so the next person can pick something different.

Ask for a dish that serves about eight

Each person takes a little of everything at a potluck, so one dish goes further than it would at a sit-down meal.

Leave room for people who can't cook

Ice, plates and drinks are real contributions. Keeping them on the list gives busy guests an easy way to help.

Label allergens at the table

Set out cards and a pen so cooks can note nuts, dairy or gluten beside each dish.

Common questions

How many dishes do I need for a potluck?

For a full meal, plan on roughly one dish for every two people, spread across mains, sides and desserts, plus drinks. Our potluck calculator works it out for your group.

Do my guests need an account to sign up?

No. They open your link, tap an item and type their name.

Can I print this potluck sheet instead?

Yes. Use the printable version and put it on a clipboard or a break room wall.
